Rawalpindi: Police have arrested seven individuals for allegedly gambling with playing cards during a crackdown in the Sadiqabad area, police said on Wednesday.
According to police, officers raided the location and detained seven suspects who were allegedly involved in gambling.
During the operation, police recovered Rs35,000 in cash believed to be stake money, six mobile phones, and playing cards from their possession.
A case has been registered against the suspects, who have been taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Rawal Saad Arshad commended police team and said the accused would be presented before the court with substantial evidence. He added that gambling is a root cause of various social evils and that police would continue taking strict action against such illegal activities.
