Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to hold the Sindh E-Sports Championship 2026 starting from 24 August, announcing prize money of 3 million rupees for the winning teams.
The government has resolved to provide more opportunities for the province’s youth to showcase their talents in the field of e-sports.
The second Sindh E-Sports Championship will begin on 24 August, with more than 1, 000 teams from across Sindh participating.
An important meeting chaired by Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs, Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar, was held at the Sindh Secretariat. Secretary Sports Munawar Ali Mahesar and Director Sports Asad Ishaq also attended it. The meeting included briefings on the Sindh Sports Policy and other departmental matters.
During the meeting, the minister announced that the championship’s formal inauguration will take place on 24 August at Liaquat Library, while competitions will continue until the first week of October.
He explained that the online matches of the Sindh E-Sports Championship will be held in different stages, with youth and over 1, 000 teams from across the province taking part. A closing ceremony will be held at the finals, where a total prize of 3 million rupees will be distributed among the winning teams.
The minister emphasized that the Sindh government is taking steps to provide maximum opportunities for youth in sports and positive activities. He noted that e-sports is an effective way for young people to express their abilities and connect with modern-day sports.
Sardar Muhammad Bakhsh Mahar said, ‘We want Sindh’s youth to channel their talents into positive activities and make Sindh’s name shine globally through e-sports. ‘
He added that Sindh’s youth are talented, and the government will provide every possible platform for them to showcase their skills.
