Quetta: Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq visited Chief Minister Secretariat Quetta on Wednesday and met with Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, members of the provincial cabinet and government and opposition members.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, development of Balochistan, public issues and promotion of democratic and parliamentary traditions in the province were discussed.
Speaking on this occasion, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti welcomed the arrival of Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq to Quetta and said that his arrival in Balochistan is a source of joy and honor for us.
He said that Balochistan is the home of everyone and there is a tradition of democratic traditions, mutual respect and political tolerance between the government and the opposition in the province.
The Chief Minister said that the government and the opposition certainly criticize each other in the Balochistan Assembly, but there are strong traditions of moral values, decency and respect.
He said that different opinions are the basic beauty of democracy and it is the democratic right of the opposition to criticize the government, however, keeping political differences within the ambit of mutual respect is part of the positive political tradition of Balochistan.
Mir Bugti said that the sitting together of the government and opposition members is a manifestation of the positive political culture and democratic maturity of Balochistan.
He said that mutual respect of the political leadership and sitting together to discuss Balochistan sends a positive message to the guests coming from outside the province and abroad.
He expressed the hope that this tradition of tolerance and mutual respect in Balochistan would continue to strengthen in the future.
On this occasion, Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed his long-standing connection and love with Balochistan and said that his connection with Balochistan is not only political but also emotional and familial.
He said that three generations of his family are related to Balochistan and love for this province has been passed down from generation to generation.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq said that Balochistan is not a stranger to him, he has a long-standing and deep connection with the people here, coming to Balochistan, one always feels a sense of belonging and love and the people here have always bestowed them with respect, love and sincerity.
He said that the soil of Balochistan, its people and traditions hold special significance for him and he has always appreciated the love and sincerity of the people of Balochistan.
The Speaker National Assembly said that his doors are always open for all the members of Balochistan and every person of the province saying that all possible cooperation would be ensured from the National Assembly platform for the solution of the problems of the people of Balochistan and the development of the province.
He said that Balochistan is the most important province of Pakistan and the development of Balochistan is in fact the development of the entire Pakistan adding that the Federation would continue to provide all possible cooperation for the development, prosperity and solution of the problems of the people of Balochistan.
Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, while appreciating the hospitality of the people of Balochistan, said that the love and hospitality of the people of Balochistan are exemplary.
When visiting Balochistan, he always feels as if he has come to his people and his home, he said.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti and Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq agreed that further promotion of mutual respect, consultation and cooperation between the political leadership for the development of Balochistan, public welfare and promotion of democratic values is the need of the hour.
