Quetta: In line with Chief Minister Balochistan’s vision to make Quetta a clean, safe, and well-organized city, the Urban Planning and Design Committee has reiterated the enforcement of its ban on new construction activities along major roads of the provincial capital.
According to the committee’s notification, no new residential or commercial buildings, unauthorized extensions, or construction activities are permitted on Airport Road, Sabzal Road (CPEC Road), Saryab Road, Link Badini Road, and Link Shahwani Road.
The Metropolitan Corporation Quetta has once again reminded citizens, traders, property owners, builders, and developers to comply with the restrictions. Officials explained that the ban aims to safeguard future urban design, road corridors, traffic flow, land use, and infrastructure development, ensuring Quetta’s growth under a structured and sustainable urban planning framework.
The measure is specifically intended to prevent haphazard construction along newly developed and strategic roads, while securing space for future civic needs. Authorities warned that violations of the notification will result in strict legal and administrative action under relevant laws and regulations.
Citizens and stakeholders have been urged to seek guidance from the concerned authorities before initiating any construction activity. The Metropolitan Corporation emphasized that cooperation from the public, business community, and developers is essential to achieve the collective goal of transforming Quetta into a modern, safe, and well-planned city.
