Peshawar: Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah has ordered intensified action against militants and their facilitators as part of efforts to implement Provincial Action Plan.
He issued these directives while chairing a high-level meeting in his office that was attended by Kohat Deputy Inspector General of Police Irfan Tariq, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir, security officials and District Deputy Commissioners and Police Chiefs via video link.
The meeting reviewed implementation of the directives issued by provincial government and agreed that no leniency would be shown to anyone involved in terrorism or other illegal activities.
The meeting also ordered stricter action against unregistered and suspicious vehicles directing authorities to strengthen vehicle profiling and scrutinize the records of rent-a-car vehicles and their users.
Commissioner directed the officials to maintain close surveillance of suspicious individuals and activities and ensure swift action when any suspicious activity is reported.
The meeting also stressed of taking local communities on board in implementing Provincial Action Plan. Quarters concerned were directed to strengthen engagement with elders, community leaders and residents to improve intelligence sharing, public awareness and confidence in security measures.
Authorities urged the residents to report suspicious people, vehicles and unusual activities to relevant law enforcement agencies saying public cooperation was essential to ensure lasting peace and security.
