Hyderabad: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) have arrested a suspected terrorist associated with Sindh Liberation Army (SLA) in a raid carried out in Sehrish nagar area in an intelligence based action.
According to a statement issued here on Thursday, the CTD recovered a hand grenade, a pistol with 6 bullets, cash and cash receipts from possession of the suspect Soomar Mallah whose alleged accomplice Israr escaped during the raid.
He was later booked in 3 separate FIRs under the Anti Terrorism Act and Explosives Act.
The CTD claimed that during initial interrogation Mallah divulged that he and his associate Israr were planning to carry out a terrorist attack on August 14 on the alleged directions of the SLA’s commander Shahnawaz Bhutto.
He also allegedly disclosed that he used to collect finances for the organization.
The CTD also claimed that a pistol recovered from Mallah was used in an attack on CTD’s officials in the limits of Husri police station of Hyderabad on July 30.
