Suthra Punjab MD inspects special cleaning operation along Nullah Lai


Rawalpindi: Managing Director, (MD) Suthra Punjab Agency Rawalpindi, Rana Sajid Safdar, on Saturday inspected a special cleanliness operation along the banks of Nullah Lai near Gawalmandi Bridge for the third consecutive day.



During the visit, the MD reviewed ongoing sanitation arrangements, including the removal of waste and garbage from the surroundings of Nullah Lai.



Manager Operations District Rawalpindi, Amir Younis Naik, Manager Operations City, Syed Hassan Sardar, Assistant Manager Operations, Eiraj Kazmi, Sector Chief, Malik Gulfraz and other operational and field staff accompanied him.



Rana Sajid Safdar inspected the cleanliness work and issued necessary instructions to officers and sanitation workers present at the site.



He said that, in accordance with the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and in view of the forecast of rain, no negligence would be tolerated in sanitation and drainage arrangements.



He directed sanitation workers to remain fully alert during the rainy spell and ensure that garbage did not accumulate along Nullah Lai or at any other location in the city.



He further ordered that desilting of drains be continued regularly to prevent obstruction to the flow of rainwater. Special attention should be given to low-lying areas, while the presence of sanitation teams should also be ensured during rainfall, he added.



The MD directed field teams to make effective use of available resources and manpower and perform their duties with full responsibility. He also instructed officials to maintain strict monitoring of all ongoing operational activities.
