Technical College Koza Banda activated on emergency basis after 15 years


Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken a step towards promote technical education and equip youth with skills by ordering the reactivation of Technical College Koza Banda, District Battagram, which had remained non-functional since 2011.



Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Technical Education Muhammad Usman Khan Bettani, along with Advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Sports and Tourism, Taj Muhammad Khan, paid a special visit to Technical College Koza Banda on Sunday. Managing Director KP-TEVTA Mian Abdul Qadir and the Principal of the Technical College were also present on the occasion.



Meanwhile, an inauguration ceremony was also held in Battagram for the upgradation of Government Polytechnic Institute Battagram, which was previously established as Government Skill Development Centre Battagram. Special Assistant Muhammad Usman Khan Bettani formally inaugurated the upgraded institution.



During the visit, the Special Assistant took notice of the college’s long-standing non-functional status and ordered its activation on an emergency basis. He directed the Managing Director to immediately deploy the required staff, following which staff was posted on the same day.



The Special Assistant also directed that computer labs, IT labs, essential equipment for various trades and furniture be provided to the college on an emergency basis, so that young people in the area could receive better facilities for technical education and practical training.



Speaking on the occasion, Special Assistant Usman Khan Bettani said that in accordance with the directives of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, detailed visits are being conducted to every district of the province to assess the issues faced by technical institutions on the spot and take immediate steps for their resolution.



He said that technical education would be further strengthened and made more effective in every district. The government aims to equip young people with modern technical skills and provide them with opportunities for dignified employment.



The Special Assistant said the Technical Education Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be transformed into a model institution where young people would have access to modern skills, quality training and better employment opportunities.



Local residents and students welcomed the decision to reactivate Technical College Koza Banda, saying that the restoration of the college would provide young people in the area with better opportunities to acquire technical education and vocational skills locally.
