Lahore: General Bus Stand (Lorry Adda) police on Sunday arrested a two-member gang of alleged swindlers and thieves during an operation, recovering cash, mobile phones and illegal weapons from their possession.
According to police, the gang used to target citizens, particularly those travelling in and around Lorry Adda. The suspects allegedly befriended passengers and engaged them in conversation before robbing them of their valuables whenever they got an opportunity.
Police said the suspects attempted to flee at the time of their arrest but were overpowered and taken into custody. SP City Atif Amir identified the arrested suspects as Ansar and Wasim.
Police recovered five mobile phones, Rs. 100, 000 in cash and illegal weapons from their possession. Police have registered cases against the suspects and launched further investigation.
