Two more trains to be restored soon: Railway Minister


Lahore: Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi has announced the restoration of two more train services on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.



According to a statement issued on Saturday the minister said the Mohenjo Daro Express will be restored on September 15, while a new train service between Sialkot and Rawalpindi will commence on October 15.



He has directed the Railway administration to take all necessary measures for the restoration and launch of the two train services.



Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said all suspended train services would be restored in phases, adding that efforts were being made to facilitate passengers and improve railway services across the country.



The minister said work on the Main Line-1 (ML-1) project had entered its final stage and its implementation was scheduled to begin in January.



He described ML-1 as a transformative project that would change the face of Pakistan Railways. He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was continuously receiving updates on the project and expressed confidence that the government would meet public expectations regarding its implementation.
