Lahore: A 50-year-old woman was killed and a 20-year-old motorcyclist injured in a road accident near Qaid-e-Azam Interchange here on Saturday.
According to the City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) spokesperson, the woman, identified as Rukhsana Bibi, was travelling on a motorcycle when the bike fell, causing her to fall onto the road. An oil tanker coming from behind ran over her, resulting in her death at the spot.
The motorcyclist, identified as 20-year-old Zeeshan, sustained injuries in the accident and was shifted to a hospital for medical treatment.
The driver of the oil tanker fled the scene following the accident.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Reheem Shirazi sought a report from the SSP City and directed that legal action be taken against those responsible for the incident.
