KARACHI: Pak Korangi and Metropolitan Cricket Club moved into Pre Quarter Finals after beating their opponents in the All Sindh Prof.Ejaz Ahmed Faruqi Invitation Cricket Tournament on Monday.
The tournament was being organized by Sangham Cricket Club at various cricket grounds with permission of PCB.
In the first match of the day, Pak Korangi beat Bright Gymkhana by 7 wickets at Landhi Gymkhana ground. The Bright Gymkhana could only score 125 in 32.1 overs. Mohammad Danish scored 42, Malik Karrar 27 and Umer Mateen 21 while Pak Korangi’s bowler Aqeel Sharif clinched 5 wickets for 13 and Tariq Murad begged 3 for 16.
Pak Korangi achieved the target in 15th over with loss of 3 wickets. Mohammad Zohaib’s blasting 63 run innings contained 9 fours and 3 sixes while Azhar Khan scored 23.
In another match Metropolitan Cricket Club defeated United Sports by 8 wickets at TMC ground. United Sports while batting first scored 128 all-out in 34.5 overs. Hasnain Majid scored 55 with 8 boundaries, Faazullah 20 and Jahanzaib Razzaq 20. MCC’s Roman Ali clinched 4 wickets for 34 and Saifullah 2 for 20.
In reply Metropolitan CC achieved the target in 18 overs with loss of 2 wickets. Arbaz Khan remained top scorer with 70 runs, Huraira Shahid scored 27 and Ghazi Ghouri 18.
