Faisalabad: The long-awaited plan to ease chronic parking congestion in Faisalabad’s historic Clock Tower bazaars gained fresh momentum on Wednesday as Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Nauman Siddique directed the authorities to finalize the designs within three days and ensure commencement of construction for the proposed parking plazas on August 01, 2026.

The deputy commissioner visited the proposed sites for parking plazas and reviewed progress on the project.

He was briefed about the designs, construction plans and other technical aspects of the project which would help in improving traffic management and providing modern parking facilities in busiest commercial hub of the city.

Expressing satisfaction over the pace of planning, he directed the departments concerned to accelerate work on all components of the project so that citizens and traders could benefit from improved parking infrastructure at the earliest.

He instructed the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK) to submit the final design of the proposed parking plazas within next three days, emphasizing that no delay in the project’s implementation would be tolerated.

He further directed that construction work should commence formally from August 01 and all development activities must be completed strictly in accordance with the approved timeline while maintaining highest construction standards.

Hyderabad: The Chairman Defence Pakistan Organisation Malik Rasheed Nurban Gilani visisted Radio Pakistan Hyderabad on Wednesday.

Senior producer Radio Pakistan Abdul Sattar warmly welcomed the guest and gave him a guided tour of the various parts including the Broadcasting Studio, Programming Studio, Broadcasting Room (Transmission Control Room), and visited more working places of Radio Pakistan Hyderabad.

Radio Pakistan Hyderabad was established after the creation of Pakistan.

Its ancient and historic building was formally inaugurated by former President of Pakistan Field Marshal Muhammad Ayub Khan in 1962, which reflects the historical status of this institution and its national role in that era.

Rawalpindi: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir on Wednesday visited DHQ Wah General Hospital and directed the hospital administration to ensure the provision of quality, dignified and timely medical facilities to patients.

The DC inspected various departments of the hospital, including the emergency, children’s ward, general ward and other key units. He also chaired a briefing session to review cleanliness arrangements, patient care, staff attendance, availability of medical equipment and overall administrative performance.

During the visit, he met patients and their attendants, inquired about their well-being and listened to their feedback regarding treatment, availability of medicines and other healthcare facilities.

Talking to patients, Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir said the primary objective of government hospitals was to provide dignified, quality and timely healthcare services to the public, adding that no negligence in this regard would be tolerated.

He directed the hospital administration to ensure that prescribed medicines were provided from the hospital pharmacy so that patients would not have to purchase costly medicines from the market.

Reviewing cleanliness arrangements, the DC instructed the authorities to maintain high sanitation standards throughout the hospital. He said a clean environment not only contributed to the speedy recovery of patients but was also essential from religious, medical and social perspectives.

He directed the staff to pay special attention to the cleanliness of wards, washrooms, corridors and waiting areas.

The DC also reviewed administrative matters, including staff discipline, patient guidance, the reception system, medicine records, duty rosters and procedures for providing healthcare services. He directed the management to introduce an effective monitoring mechanism to minimise waiting times, ensure staff attendance and maintain transparency in patient care.

He said providing the best healthcare facilities in government hospitals remained a top priority of the Punjab government and the district administration. He directed the concerned officers to improve the quality of all available services and immediately address issues faced by patients.

Sialkot: In-charge of the Federal Ombudsman Regional Office Gujranwala, Mushtaq Ahmed Awan, visited the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and held a meeting with SCCI President Syed Ahtesham Mazhar and other senior office-bearers.

During the meeting, Mr. Awan briefed the chamber leadership on the role and functioning of the Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan in addressing public complaints against federal government departments. He also presented a list of 212 federal departments that fall under the Ombudsman’s jurisdiction.

Mr. Awan proposed connecting the Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the Federal Ombudsman’s Complaint Management Information System (CMIS) online portal. The initiative aims to enable the Chamber to facilitate the submission and resolution of public complaints against the 212 federal departments covered by the Ombudsman’s office.

Welcoming the proposal, SCCI President Syed Ahtesham Mazhar thanked the Federal Ombudsman’s office and said the Chamber would make full use of the facility to better serve the business community.

At the conclusion of the visit, the SCCI President expressed his appreciation to Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Awan for visiting the Chamber and presented him with a commemorative shield in recognition of his visit.

Rawalpindi: Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir, on Wednesday visited the Tehsil Office, Taxila and chaired a meeting to review the progress of ongoing development projects in the tehsil.

During the meeting, the DC was given a detailed briefing on the status of development projects, including their progress, stages of completion, challenges and future action plans.

Emphasising quality, transparency and timely execution, Captain (Retd) Nadeem Nasir directed all departments to ensure that development schemes were completed within the stipulated timeframe and according to the prescribed standards so that the public could benefit from them without delay.

He said unnecessary delays in development projects would not be tolerated and instructed all concerned departments to resolve obstacles through close coordination and effective communication.

The DC also directed officials to ensure regular monitoring of development works, maintain transparency in the utilisation of public funds and prioritise quality at every stage of implementation.

Nasir said that, in line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the provision of improved infrastructure, modern urban facilities and sustainable development projects remained a top priority of the district administration.

He urged all relevant institutions to work in close coordination to accelerate the pace of development in Taxila and ensure the effective completion of public welfare projects.

The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Taxila, the Chief Officer District Council, and officers of the concerned departments.

Faisalabad: Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Saqib Raza has declared achievement of at least 75 percent recovery of commercial water and sewerage bills mandatory for all revenue officers and warned that the officials failing to meet the target would be transferred as the agency stepped up efforts to strengthen its financial position and improve civic services.

Chairing a meeting to review revenue performance, he said that the monthly recovery targets set by the Punjab government must be achieved in letter and spirit. He directed all revenue officers to intensify field operations and personally ensure the recovery of outstanding dues as well as current monthly bills from commercial consumers.

He said that every revenue officer would be required to achieve a minimum recovery of 75 percent from commercial consumers. Any officer failing to meet the assigned target would be replaced, he added.

He also instructed revenue officers to increase the number of commercial consumers registered within their respective subdivisions to broaden revenue base of the agency and improve collection efficiency.

He directed the Private Housing Societies (PHS) Directorate to ensure achievement of its prescribed monthly recovery targets as well. Strict action would be taken against officials in case of poor performance, he added.

Emphasizing the importance of enhanced revenue collection, he said that improved financial stability would enable WASA to address the growing challenges of water supply and drainage services more effectively and deliver better municipal facilities to the citizens of Faisalabad.
