Rawalpindi: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region Babar Sarfraz Alpa held a meeting with a delegation of the Anjuman-e-Tajran Rawalpindi, led by President Rawalpindi Cantonment Traders Association Munir Baig Mirza, to discuss issues faced by the business community and ensure their prompt resolution.

The delegation included traders from various commercial areas, including Saddar Bazaar, Tench Bhatta, Dhoke Hassanabad, Rehmanabad, and Chaklala Scheme-III.

During the meeting held at the Regional Police Office, traders shared their concerns and presented suggestions aimed at further improving the business environment.

The RPO assured the delegation that their recommendations would be reviewed and necessary steps would be taken for their implementation.

He said that the purpose of the meeting was to provide maximum facilitation to traders and address their problems through effective coordination.

Speaking on the occasion, Babar Sarfraz Alpa thanked the traders for their valuable input and said that, in line with the vision of the Punjab government, relevant officers had been directed at all levels to address the issues faced by the business community and act upon their suggestions.

He stated that traders play the role of the backbone of the economy and their concerns were being addressed on a priority basis. He added that all possible measures were being taken to facilitate the business community and improve public service delivery.

The RPO also appreciated the cooperation of traders in operations against encroachments, saying that collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the business community was essential for maintaining an organized and secure commercial environment.

The delegation included Chaudhry Azhar Mahmood, Raja Parvez Akhtar, Chaudhry Nasir, Zulfiqar Ahmed, Ali Asghar, Sheikh Hafeez, Zafar Qadri, Ali Dhaniyal, Chaudhry Muhammad Hussain, Samiullah, Muhammad Mukhtar, Malik Ejaz, Sheikh Hafeez Ahmed, Malik Nasir, Sheikh Akmal, and Waseem Ahmed.

Larkana: On the instructions of MPA City Larkana Jameel Ahmed Soomro, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh Khair Muhammad Sheikh and Mayor Larkana Advocate Anwar Ali Lehar inaugurated the solar system at Government Boys Primary School Khair Shah Bukhari, Dari Mohalla.

On this occasion, Khair Muhammad Sheikh said that providing modern facilities to educational institutions is among the priorities of the Sindh government.

Anwar Ali Lehar said that the installation of solar systems in schools will provide students with an uninterrupted educational environment even during load-shedding.

The Pakistan Peoples Party believes in practical steps, especially for progress and the provision of facilities in the education sector.

Sargodha: A man was shot dead allegedly over an old dispute in the Midh Ranjha area within the jurisdiction of Midh Ranjha police station on Tuesday.

According to police,the deceased was identified as Nazar Muhammad,r/o Mouza Badeen.

Police said the victim had developed a dispute with some villagers following an earlier altercation.

According to police,unidentified armed men opened fire on Nazar Muhammad in the wake of the previous dispute, leaving him dead on the spot.

Police and Rescue 1122 teams reached the scene,shifted the body to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Further investigation was underway.

Faisalabad: Anti-encroachment squad of Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) removed temporary and permanent setups in different areas here on Tuesday. In a crackdown, the squad seized articles of shopkeepers displayed on footpaths in Gulberg and Lakkar Mandi areas. The squad also forwarded challans against 50 shopkeepers and vendors to the court for further action.

Meanwhile, FDA Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry said that public interest, traffic flow and provision of safe and convenient transportation to citizens were the top priorities. He made it clear that any kind of illegal occupation or encroachment on government land would not be tolerated and indiscriminate action against encroachers would continue on a regular basis. He asked the shopkeepers to voluntarily remove encroachments on roads, footpaths and other public places, otherwise strict legal action would be taken against violators.

Faisalabad: Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) on Tuesday announced results of the First Annual Examinations 2026 for the Associate Degree in Arts (ADA), Associate Degree in Science (ADS) and Associate Degree in Commerce (ADC), becoming the first university in Punjab to declare the results and enabling successful students to apply for admissions to higher education institutions without delay.

GCUF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam formally announced the results at a ceremony held at the university’s New Campus, where position holders were also awarded certificates and gold medals.

Addressing the participants, GCUF Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam said that the university was continuing practical measures to strengthen a transparent, quality-oriented and timely examination system. He said that early declaration of results would provide students with better opportunities to secure admissions to universities across the country within the prescribed schedules.

The vice chancellor congratulated the position holders, their parents, teachers, college heads and principals on their outstanding achievements. He expressed confidence that the students would continue to excel academically and contribute positively to development of the country through their knowledge and abilities.

Speaking on the occasion, Controller of Examinations GCUF Dr. Muhammad Israr Chaudhry said that Government College University Faisalabad had become the first university in Punjab to announce the ADA, ADS and ADC results, ensuring that successful candidates could submit admission applications to higher educational institutions without facing delays.

University spokesman said that the examinations were conducted and the results compiled under the supervision of Controller of Examinations Dr. Muhammad Israr Chaudhry. He said that total 6,763 candidates appeared in the examinations across the three associate degree programs.

In the ADA program, Arooj Fatima of Aspire College Bhalwal secured the first position while Mehreen and Mahwish Noreen clinched the second and third positions respectively.

In the ADS program, Khadija Mustafa of Superior College Muridwala stood first, followed by Amina Bibi of Readers College Sargodha in second place while Maria Batool secured the third position.

In the ADC program, Qurat-ul-Ain of Superior College Chunda obtained the first position. The second position was shared by private candidate Umaima and Mahwish Muneer of Superior College Chunda while Asma Zafarullah secured the third position.

The result announcement ceremony was attended by Director Colleges Faisalabad Bushra Parveen, principals of affiliated public and private colleges, faculty members, students and their parents.

Sargodha: Special training workshop for capacity building of police officers was held here on Tuesday in collaboration with Sargodha Police and social organization ‘Roshni Helpline’. The main objective of the workshop was to understand and develop effective strategies to prevent legal complications in sensitive issues such as women and children, especially sexual exploitation, human trafficking and child protection. Sargodha Police officers involved in the investigation of gender crimes participated in the workshop. During the training session, the experts gave detailed lectures to the participants regarding the protection of the rights of women and children, assistance to victims of sexual exploitation and trafficking, and to advance the investigation process on modern lines under child protection laws.

At the end of session, SP Investigation Sargodha, Imran Abbas Chadhar made a special appearance. He presented special shields to Safdar Iqbal SHO City Sargodha, Inspector Mubasher Imtiaz Focal Person SSOIU, Muhammad Waseem in-charge CDR for performing their duties in the best manner and rendering outstanding services. Besides, certificates of appreciation were also distributed to other police officers participating in the workshop to encourage them.

On the occasion, SP Investigation Imran Abbas Chadhar said the elimination of scams like sexual exploitation of women and children and trafficking was among the top priorities of Sargodha police. He thanked Roshni Helpline for its support and said that such training sessions would improve the professional skills of police officers, implementation of child protection laws would be ensured

and immediate delivery of justice to the oppressed would be possible.
