Rawalpindi: Police have arrested a two-member gang allegedly involved in multiple motorcycle theft incidents and recovered seven stolen motorcycles during a successful operation.

According to police spokesperson, the suspects were apprehended during a targeted crackdown in Rawat against motorcycle thieves.

The recovered motorcycles are believed to have been stolen from different areas and were confiscated for further legal proceedings.

Police said the gang’s ringleader is a known and previously recorded offender who has allegedly been involved in robbery, motorcycle theft, and other theft-related crimes in the past.

SP Saddar Anum Sher stated that the arrested suspects would be presented before the court with solid evidence.

She emphasized that individuals who deprive citizens of their valuable property will not be allowed to evade the law.

Further investigations are underway to determine the gang’s involvement in other criminal activities and to identify any additional accomplices.

Muzaffwrgarh: Kot Sultan police have registered a case against two men, identified as Nadeem and Gul Sher Kharal, for allegedly attempting to assault a female student.

According to sources, the complainant told police that a van driver and his accomplice attempted to assault her, but the suspects fled the scene after she raised an alarm.

Police registered the case on the victim’s request and have launched a legal process against the accused.

SHO Kot Sultan Zahid Laghari said the incident was being investigated from every angle and further legal action would be taken in light of the evidence gathered.

Bahawalpur: PERA Force Bahawalpur has warned traders and shopkeepers of stern legal action if they were found involved in overpricing of LPG in the district. According to official sources, Mujtaba Manzoor, SDO Pera force and Special Magistrate of the Price Control Committee, urged the citizens to immediately lodge a complaint with the Pera Force, if any trader was found selling essential commodities or LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) above the officially notified rates, so that prompt action could be taken against profiteers. He further stated that residents of Bahawalpur could visit his office directly to lodge any complaint regarding overpricing or related issues, assuring that all complaints would be addressed promptly and appropriate action would be taken. ‘Compliance with government directives is our top priority and overpricing of essential commodities and LPG is unacceptable,’ he said. He stated that ensuring the implementation of Punjab government’s directives was the department’s foremost priority. He
said that, under the instructions of the Punjab government, the Pera Force, in coordination with the district administration, was making every effort to ensure the availability of essential commodities at the official prices listed by the district administration.

Sargodha: Deputy Director Livestock Sargodha Dr Naila on Sunday urged cattle breeders to immediately settle their outstanding dues from the first phase of the Livestock Card scheme at the Bank of Punjab to qualify for the upcoming second phase of the program.

Speaking to a group of farmers, she stated that the Punjab government was finalizing preparations for the launch of Livestock Card Phase 2, and only those individuals who had timely repaid their Phase 1 loans would be eligible for the new scheme.

She stressed that defaulters must fulfill their financial obligations before they could benefit from further government initiatives. Dr Naila explained that the Livestock Card program aimed to provide easy financial facilities for fodder, concentrated feed, vaccines, and other essential expenditures to boost milk and meat production while strengthening the regional rural economy of Sargodha.

The Deputy Director livestock warned that defaulting farmers would not only be deprived of the Livestock Card facility but could also face difficulties in accessing future financial support programs.

She advised all livestock owners to contact the district livestock offices or the official helpline at 08000-9211 for additional information and guidance.

Khanewal: A man allegedly subjected his estranged wife to severe torture at her parents’ house in a suburban area of Sahiwal under the pretext of reconciliation,police said on Sunday.

According to police, the incident took place in Chak No.176/10-R,where the accused,Muhammad Akram along with his brothers visited the residence of his in-laws to reconcile with his wife,Rabia.

Police said that during the meeting,a dispute broke out between the couple,after which the accused allegedly attacked his wife with batons.

His brothers were also allegedly involved in the assault and recorded the incident on video.

Following the attack,the accused and his accomplices fled the scene.

The victim was shifted to hospital in critical condition by her family.

Police said the incident came to light after the video went viral on social media, prompting District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Abid to take notice and order the immediate arrest of the suspects.

The DPO said violence against women would not be tolerated and assured that the accused would be dealt with strictly, adding that the victim would be provided justice.

Dg khan: Police arrested a wanted criminal in an injured condition after an exchange of fire in the Sadar Taunsa area, recovering a weapon and a motorcycle from him, while a Dolphin Force personnel sustained a minor injury in the shootout.

The accused, identified as Zawar Hussain, son of Noor Muhammad, belonging to the Mashwari clan, was wanted in cases of attempted murder, robbery and other serious offences.

According to details, a Sadar Taunsa police team was on routine patrol near Pul Malana when suspects opened indiscriminate fire upon spotting them. Police retaliated, and the accused was wounded in crossfire from his own accomplices before being arrested along with a weapon and a motorcycle. His accomplices managed to flee the scene, and a search operation is underway to arrest them.

Dolphin Force personnel Shafqatullah suffered a minor injury during the exchange of fire and was given immediate medical treatment. His condition is stated to be out of danger.
