Sargodha: Two children were killed while two others sustained multiple injuries when the roof of a house collapsed in Bhera area on Wednesday. According to Rescue-1122 sources, the incident took place at Rakh Chiragh Bhera, where the roof of a house suddenly caved in, resulted in the death of Haseeb (8) and Saima (5), and injuries to Yousaf (35) and Kiran (30). The victims belong to Multan.

Rescue -1122 team and police concern reached the spot and shifted the victims to hospital for necessary legal formalities.

Dera ismail khan: The Dera police in continued commemorative activities ahead of Police Martyrs’ Day, observed annually on August 5, by paying tribute to officers who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.

Acting on the directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmed, Station House Officer (SHO) University Police Station Attaullah Khan, visited the grave of martyred Head Constable Ehsanullah Kat Shahani, where he laid a floral wreath and offered prayers for the departed soul.

Speaking on the occasion, the SHO paid tribute to the martyred officer’s bravery, dedication, and supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation and the protection of the public.

He said that the police martyrs are national heroes whose courage and selflessness will always be remembered.

He added that the martyred head constable upheld the highest traditions of professionalism and duty, bringing honor to the police force through his exemplary service.

The Dera police reaffirmed their commitment to standing by the families of martyrs and honoring the sacrifices made by police personnel in the line of duty.

Burewala: The wall-to-wall tuff tile project along Multan Road, from Lorry Adda to Chungi No. 5, was inaugurated through the joint efforts of Multan Commissioner Rana Amir Karim Khan and public representatives, marking the start of a major urban beautification initiative.

Under the project, tuff tiles will be laid on both sides of Multan Road to improve the city’s appearance, provide better facilities for pedestrians and upgrade urban infrastructure.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Rana Amir Karim Khan said the timely completion of public development projects remained a priority of the Punjab government, adding that such initiatives would enhance civic amenities and improve the overall outlook of the city.

Participants described the project as a positive step towards beautifying Burewala and improving public facilities, expressing hope that it would be completed on schedule and in accordance with the prescribed quality standards.

Faisalabad: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira ordered uncompromising security arrangements for Muharram Chehlum and directed police officers to enforce foolproof measures at all sensitive locations and procession routes to ensure complete safety of mourners across the region.

According to spokesperson,the RPO visited Central Imambargah Dhobi Ghatt and undertook a comprehensive review of security arrangements made for Chehlum observances.

City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Tanveer Hussain, SP Lyallpur Town Abid Hussain Zafar and City Traffic Officer (CTO) Nasir Javed also accompanied the RPO during the inspection.

During visit, SP Lyallpur Town Abid Hussain Zafar gave a detailed briefing about the security plan and operational arrangements for Chehlum procession routes, highlighting deployment strategies and monitoring mechanisms designed to ensure smooth and secure religious observances.

The RPO inspected the security arrangements at Central Imambargah as well as other sensitive points and reviewed the deployment of police personnel, surveillance measures and overall preparedness.

Addressing the police officers, RPO Sohail Akhtar Sukhaira directed that additional police force should be deployed at sensitive locations and strict security measures should be enforced around Imambargahs.

He stressed that mourners must be provided a peaceful and secure environment. He instructed police officers to ensure foolproof security for all religious gatherings and mourning processions.

He categorically stated that there would be no compromise on maintaining law and order during Muharram Chehlum and directed all field officers to remain vigilant and ensure effective coordination for the peaceful conduct of the religious event.

Bahawalpur: Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Dr. Ayesha Khan chaired separate meetings to review security arrangements for upcoming religious observances and preparations for Kashmir Exploitation Day on August 5, directing all relevant departments to ensure effective coordination and timely implementation of assigned responsibilities.

Presiding over the District Peace Committee meeting, Dr. Ayesha Khan reviewed administrative and security plans for the sacred occasions of 12th Rabi-ul-Awwal, the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), and the Chehlum of Hazrat Ali (RA).

Officials informed the meeting that 56 religious gatherings (Majalis) would be held across the district, including six B-category and 50 C-category events, while 30 processions are scheduled, comprising one A-category, eight B-category, and 21 C-category processions.

Dr. Ayesha Khan directed the police and other law enforcement agencies to ensure comprehensive security for all religious events. She instructed the authorities to conduct technical sweeping of procession routes, maintain strict surveillance at sensitive locations, and complete all security arrangements well before the events.

The meeting also decided to prohibit vehicle parking within a 500-yard radius of Majalis venues to strengthen security measures. MEPCO was directed to ensure an uninterrupted electricity supply during the events and remove hanging power lines along procession routes. The Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) and the Municipal Corporation were instructed to ensure cleanliness, restore streetlights, and cover open drains and manholes on procession routes.

The Health Department and Rescue 1122 were directed to keep field hospitals, ambulances, fire brigade units, and emergency response services on high alert, while the Punjab Food Authority was instructed to regularly inspect food distributed at Niaz and Sabeel points to ensure public health and safety.

Officials further informed the meeting that rescue vehicles had been serviced, special duty rosters finalized, and a 24-hour control room would remain operational to coordinate emergency response throughout the religious observances.

Dr. Ayesha Khan directed all concerned departments to remain on full alert and perform their duties with close coordination to ensure that the sacred occasions are observed peacefully, safely, and in an orderly manner.

In a separate meeting, Dr. Ayesha Khan reviewed district-level arrangements for observing Kashmir Exploitation Day on August 5. Addressing the meeting, she said all events marking the occasion should be organized with patriotism, dignity, and national spirit to reaffirm solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir and highlight their right to self-determination before the international community. She directed the concerned departments to complete all arrangements well in advance and emphasized that no negligence in organizing the official programmes would be tolerated. Stressing the national importance of the occasion, she instructed all departments to maintain close coordination and cooperation to ensure that Kashmir Exploitation Day is observed in a befitting manner across the district.

Officials from the relevant departments attended the meeting and briefed participants on the planned programmes and administrative arrangements for the observance.

Deputy Commissioner Irfan Ali Khan chaired a meeting attended by the district health sector’s monitoring staff.

The meeting conducted a detailed review of health department monitoring, the provision of medical services at Basic Health Units (BHUs), staff attendance, the availability of medicines, sanitation conditions, and the overall performance of health facilities.

Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner directed the monitoring staff to make field inspections more effective, ensure regular visits to all health centres, and promptly report any negligence or irregularities so that timely corrective measures could be taken.

The meeting reaffirmed the district administration’s commitment to ensuring the provision of quality and timely healthcare services to the public, while the Deputy Commissioner issued necessary instructions to the relevant officials for further improvement of the health sector.
