9 accused arrested in Chiniot during 24-hour crackdown


Chiniot: Under the vision of Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, a crackdown against criminal elements is underway across the district.



On the instructions of District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif, Chiniot Police has arrested 9 accused in the last 24 hours.



According to police, 1 advertiser was arrested during the crackdown against criminal advertisers. In the drive against drug dealers, 3 accused were arrested and 1200 grams of heroin along with alcohol was recovered.



Meanwhile, 5 accused were arrested for illegal gas refilling, reckless driving, speeding, and electricity theft. During checking through the Police Post app, 601 suspicious persons and 501 suspicious vehicles were checked.



More than 200 vehicles were challaned for violating traffic rules, and fines of more than Rs. 500, 000 were imposed. District Police Officer Dr. Naveed Atif said practical steps are being taken to ensure the safety of lives and property of citizens.



He added that suspects involved in various crimes are being arrested using human resources and modern technology. All resources will be used to establish law and order and ensure the safety of citizens.
