Rising terrorism in KP must be stamped out at all costs: PM

Islamabad:Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday said that the surge of terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must be stamped out at all costs, reiterating his government’s desire to bring the province’s development on par with the rest of the country.



The prime minister, in a meeting with Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam, who called on him here, paid tribute to the immense sacrifices rendered by the people of KP in the fight against terrorism.



During the meeting, they discussed the matters pertaining to Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Gilgit-Baltistan (GB), and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.



Minister Amir Muqam briefed the prime minister on maters related to AJK and GB.



Prime Minister Shehbaz directed for maintaining continuous momentum to ensure the welfare, development, and provision of basic amenities to the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.



He said that the development of AJK and GB, as well as the prosperity of their people, was among the government’s priorities.
