Rawalpindi: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Tuesday conducted eight operations in various cities and arrested 15 suspects, including a woman, and recovered 83. 385 kilograms(kgs) of drugs worth over Rs 11. 6 million.
According to an ANF spokesman, near a university in Islamabad, ANF recovered 2. 4 kg of hashish from a suspect, who confessed to selling drugs to students of educational institutions.
At Peshawar International Airport, 73 heroin-filled capsules weighing 435 grams were recovered from the stomach of a passenger travelling to Bahrain.
In inter-provincial operations, ANF recovered 38. 4 kg of hashish and 15. 6 kg of opium from a vehicle near Rawalpindi Interchange and arrested two suspects.
Near Mandra Toll Plaza, 10. 8 kg of hashish was seized from a vehicle and two suspects, including a woman, were arrested.
In domestic operations, 9. 6 kg of hashish was recovered from a vehicle near Chungi No. 26, Islamabad, with three suspects apprehended.
Near a bus terminal in Sargodha, 3. 6 kg of hashish was recovered from three motorcyclists, while 646 grams of hashish concealed in the shoes of a suspect was seized near a bus terminal in Faisalabad.
Near Ravi Road, Lahore, ANF seized 680 ecstasy tablets weighing 400 grams, 1. 5kg of heroin and two 9 mm pistols from two suspects travelling on two motorcycles.
Cases have been registered against the arrested suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act (CNSA), 1997, and further investigations are underway.
