Sargodha: Additional Deputy Commissioner (Municipal Services) Muhammad Atif Sandhu held an open court at the Municipal Office Bhalwal on Tuesday and directed relevant officials to take immediate steps to address citizens’ complaints.
According to an official spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Bhalwal Waheed Gondal was also present on the occasion.
During the open court, citizens highlighted several civic issues, including stagnant water in streets, blocked sewerage lines and improper sewerage levels. Residents also complained that accumulated sewage had turned vacant plots in some areas into ponds, causing inconvenience and raising sanitation concerns.
Briefing the ADC, the assistant commissioner said that the tendering process for projects aimed at improving streets and sewerage systems under the Punjab Development Programme had been completed. He added that the relevant file had been forwarded to the competent authorities for final approval.
Sandhu directed the concerned officials to ensure prompt redressal of citizens’ complaints and take practical measures to clear blocked sewerage lines. He stressed that negligence in providing basic municipal services to citizens would not be tolerated.
Earlier, Sandhu, accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Waheed Gondal, visited Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Bhalwal and inspected cleanliness and other facilities. He visited different wards and reviewed the overall sanitation arrangements, which were found satisfactory.
The ADC directed the hospital administration to maintain the existing standard of cleanliness and ensure a clean and hygienic environment for patients and visitors.
