Bahawalpur: The district administration has reviewed arrangements for celebrating Independence Day on August 14 with national spirit. effective coordination. and public participation. A meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Dr Ayesha Khan was attended by officials from the health and education departments. The Islamia University of Bahawalpur. police. Municipal Corporation. PERA Force. Rescue 1122. Bahawalpur Waste Management Company. Agriculture Department. Bahawalpur Museum. Sports Department. Parks and Horticulture Authority. WASA. and other relevant institutions. The meeting reviewed programmes planned for Independence Day. along with security. sanitation. beautification. and other administrative arrangements.
Dr Ayesha Khan directed the concerned departments to complete special cleanliness arrangements at schools. government buildings. and other public places before August 14. She also ordered the beautification of key locations and government offices with green and white lights and directed that national flags at government buildings be replaced and the premises appropriately decorated. She further directed all government institutions to organize flag-hoisting and cake-cutting ceremonies on August 14. with a focus on national unity. patriotism. and public participation.
The relevant departments were instructed to complete all preparations on time and ensure discipline. cleanliness. and adequate civic facilities during the celebrations.
The meeting was informed that Commissioner Bahawalpur Division Irfan Ali Kathia and Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Syed Hasan Raza would visit New Central Jail Bahawalpur on Independence Day to distribute sweets among inmates.
Sweets and juices would also be distributed among patients receiving treatment at Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan Abbasi Hospital.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned officials to discharge their assigned responsibilities through close coordination and a comprehensive strategy to ensure that Independence Day celebrations are held in a dignified manner befitting the national occasion and reflecting the spirit of patriotism.
