ATC rejects bail of accused in honey-trap, kidnap-for-ransom case

Lahore: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) dismissed the post-arrest bail petition of an accused allegedly involved in a honey-trap and kidnapping-for-ransom case. ATC Judge Shahid Sikandar announced the decision while hearing the post-arrest bail petition of accused Imran.

According to the prosecution, Imran, along with police official Yasir and other accomplices, allegedly operated a honey-trap gang with the assistance of two women. The gang allegedly targeted citizen Ghulam Rasool, lured him into a honey trap and subsequently kidnapped him for ransom, it added.

The prosecution alleged that the accused received Rs 7. 5 million in ransom from the victim and also took £8, 000 from him. The accused allegedly blackmailed the victim for an extended period and repeatedly extorted money from him, the prosecution added.

It further stated that the victim was allegedly kidnapped three times, with the accused demanding and receiving money on each occasion.

The prosecution opposed Imran’s bail plea, arguing that serious allegations of kidnapping, extortion and involvement in an organised honey-trap gang had been levelled against him. After hearing the arguments, the ATC dismissed Imran’s post-arrest bail petition.

The Nawab Town police had registered the case in 2025 against the accused, including Imran and police official Yasir.
