Bakht vows to improve immunization coverage for protecting children from diseases


Quetta: Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar on Monday expressed his determination that steps would be further accelerated to further improve immunization coverage, provide health facilities to remote areas and protect children from infectious diseases.



In his statement, the Provincial Health Minister said that a healthy and prosperous Balochistan is our dream, for which all available resources are being utilized.



He said that the government is taking strong steps to provide basic health facilities to children and the public and protect them from treatable diseases.



According to Balochistan Health Department, Balochistan has made significant progress in the field of immunization coverage. According to the independent survey TPVICS Round 3 of the Aga Khan University, immunization coverage in Balochistan has reached 56. 6 percent, which is an increase of 19 percent compared to the past.



This significant improvement in immunization coverage is the result of joint and continuous efforts of the Balochistan Health Department and EPI (Expanded Programme on Immunization). This success reflects the effectiveness of the ongoing government measures to protect children in the province from various diseases, Health Dept said.



Bakht Kakar has expressed satisfaction over the significant increase in immunization coverage, appreciating the performance of the Balochistan Health Department and EPI teams.



The Minister said that we have pledged to secure our future and make our new generation healthy, strong and useful for this country and nation, the improvement in immunization coverage is a practical reflection of this commitment.



He added that the progress achieved in the field of immunization in Balochistan has been possible due to the strong leadership of the Chief Minister of Balochistan, good governance, effective supervision and provision of additional resources to the health sector.
