Secretary Babar Khan reviews progress on road sector projects under Balochistan socio-economic development programme


Quetta: Secretary Communications and Works, Babar Khan chaired a review meeting on the progress of Phase I and II road sector projects under the Balochistan Socio-Economic Development Programme.



Senior engineers, project coordinators, and district officers from multiple regions attended the session and presented detailed briefings.



The meeting was joined by Project Coordinator Shehzad Hassan Jaffar, Chief Engineer Qalat-Khuzdar Zone Azizullah Kasi, Chief Engineer Nasirabad Zone Muhammad Bashir Nasir, Technical Advisor Ehsanullah Khan Dotani, along with district engineers and officers from Jhal Magsi, Sherani, Gwadar, Khuzdar, Noshki, Panjgur, Zhob, Washuk, and Awaran.



Participants provided updates on the progress of all ongoing road sector projects under Phase I and II. Addressing the meeting, Secretary Babar Khan emphasized that completing these development schemes within the current fiscal year and even ahead of schedule was the department’s top priority.



He expressed dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work on certain critical projects, warning that delays would not be tolerated. He issued strict instructions to accelerate and improve the pace of construction.



The Secretary highlighted that the timely completion of these projects would bring prosperity to remote and underdeveloped areas of the province. Improved road connectivity would facilitate easier access to urban centers, benefiting all segments of society in these regions. He stressed that infrastructure development and timely execution of projects were key drivers of growth and stability in Balochistan.



Babar Khan further noted that the fruits of these schemes must reach the province’s far-flung communities without delay, ensuring that the benefits of development were shared equitably. He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and quality in project execution.
