Quetta: Commissioner Lasbela Division Saira Atta on Monday issued orders to the officials to hold a joint coordination meeting with Sui Gas and K-Electric officials to expedite the work on the Hub Master Plan.
She said this while presiding over a meeting to review progress of Hub Master Plan and Safe City project at the LIEDA Conference Hall.
The meeting was attended by DIG Lasbela Range Abdul Qayyum Pitafi, Deputy Commissioner Hub Juma Dad Mandokhel, SSP Lasbela Najibullah Pindrani, SS Hub Pirza Bilal Hassan, Chairman MC Hub Gul Hassan Muhammad Hasni, representatives of the Municipal Corporation Engineer and Consultant Firm, and Assistant Commissioner Uthal.
DC Hub Juma Dad Mandokhel and PD Hub Master Plan Arbab Ayub Kasi gave a detailed briefing to the Commissioner regarding the Master Plan Project.
The Commissioner, while speaking at the briefing, said that the Hub Master Plan is an important project towards modernization, the feasibility of providing facilities to the urban population has been included in it.
Commissioner Saira Atta said that the work on the Master Plan project should not stop under any circumstances, all the funds that have been released. The physical financial progress of the projects included in the master plan would be checked by itself saying that development projects should not be visible on the ground, not on multimedia.
She also issued orders that roads should not be demolished until funds are released according to the project requirements.
Project Director Master told the Commissioner in a briefing that 30 percent of the urban population of the hub consists of industrial and 70 percent urban and agricultural areas, six projects have been included in the phase one of the master plan.
He said that 140 million funds have been approved this year for the 6 billion project of the hub master plan, a gate and a modern bus terminal are going to be built at the entry point of the hub city, the foundation and green area of the intercity bus terminal are also part of the master plan.
Deputy Commissioner Hub Juma Dad Mandokhel briefed the Commissioner that at a cost of two billion, work on the DC Complex Hub and Officer Colony would be completed. 40 percent physical and 32 percent financial progress of DC Complex is underway, Officer Colony has 30 percent physical and 20 percent financial progress.
He said in the briefing that the work on the drainage and sewerage project in the 5-kilometer area of RCD Yaiway Road is underway under the master plan, one kilometer sewerage line and one hundred meter drainage line have been completed.
Project Director Arbab Ayub Kasi told the Commissioner in the briefing that the service corridor has been designed on the style of Bahria Town on both sides, keeping in mind the future needs, all work on underground electric cables is underway, the first phase includes sewage, water supply and drainage, and the second phase includes black topping of the road.
The DC and Project Director Arbab Ayub Kasi told the commissioner in a joint briefing that the projects would be completed by June 2027. The briefing was informed that the water supply upgradation project is included in the link road project connecting RCD Road to Hub Bay House, a modern sports complex has been designed at Jam Ghulam Qadir Stadium, work would start soon on the construction of a gym park for women at every bus stand of RCD Highway, the work of Allahabad Town and Jam Ghulam Qadir Complex is underway.
They said in the briefing that upon completion, the Sports Department would be handed over.
Regarding the construction of the service road, the Commissioner was informed in the briefing that a coordination meeting would be called soon with the electric officials of Sui Gas Road.
The officials said in the briefing that the encroachments are being removed from Adalat Road, Mary Chowk, Toledar Road, work is underway on sewerage and drainage in the link from Adalat Road to Perex Road.
Project Director Arbab Ayub Kasi said in the briefing that not even four percent of the 6 billion project has been allocated in the current fiscal year’s budget, the Additional Chief Secretary Development would be contacted to obtain the required funds.
