Balochistan govt notifies establishment of new Municipal Committees in Musaezai, Maezai and Gulistan

Quetta: The Balochistan government has formally issued a notification granting municipal committee status to Musaezai, Maezai, and Gulistan, following the announcement made earlier by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti.

The decision comes after the completion of all legal and administrative requirements, marking a significant step in strengthening local governance.

On Tuesday, Parliamentary Leader of Awami National Party and Member of Provincial Assembly Engineer Zmarak Khan Achakzai met Chief Minister Bugti to express gratitude for fulfilling the longstanding demand of the people.

He said the establishment of new municipal committees reflects the Chief Minister’s commitment to honoring promises made to citizens. Zmarak Khan Achakzai added that the move will provide residents with improved municipal services, enhance local development, and ensure more effective resolution of public issues.

He expressed hope that similar initiatives would be extended to other areas where the establishment or upgradation of local bodies is urgently needed.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti reaffirmed that the government’s foremost priority is to provide basic facilities to the people and strengthen the municipal system.

He assured that efforts to improve municipal services will continue, with eligible local bodies being upgraded in phases according to prescribed standards and regulations.

Sarfraz Bugti acknowledged that Engineer Zmarak Khan Achakzai had been consistently pursuing the establishment of municipal committees in Musaezai, Maezai, and Gulistan for the past eighteen months, and said the government had now translated those efforts into reality.

He emphasized that similar measures will be taken across the province in areas meeting the required criteria, ensuring that citizens receive better and more efficient services at the local level.
