Quetta: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Musakhel Abdul Razaq Khan Khajak on Tuesday said that no compromise would be made on attendance of teachers and other staff in educational institutions for interest of children future in the district.
He said that strict departmental action would be taken against employees who neglect their duties in government educational institutions without discrimination.
He expressed these views while chairing a meeting of the District Education Group.
The meeting reviewed in detail the situation of educational institutions across the district, the improvement of the education sector, the provision of quality education to students and the implementation of decisions taken in the previous meeting.
The attendance status of teachers and other staff in various educational institutions was also discussed during the meeting.
Expressing strong anger over the issue of absent employees, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Khan Khajak issued clear instructions to the concerned authorities that un
justified absence would not be accepted under any circumstances and strict departmental action should be taken against absent employees and their salaries should also be deducted as per the rules and regulations.
The DC said that government employees are paid salaries from public taxes, therefore it is mandatory for them to perform their duties honestly, responsibly and punctually.
He said that the absence of teachers has a direct impact on the education and future of students, which could not be ignored under any circumstances.
He directed all concerned officers and education department officials to regularly monitor schools in their areas, ensure the attendance of teachers and other staff and take immediate steps to resolve the problems faced by educational institutions by identifying them.
Abdul Razaq Khan Khajak said that the education sector is of fundamental importance among the government’s priorities, all available resources would be utilized to provide a better educational environment, quality ed
ucation and necessary facilities to the children of the district.
He said that just holding a meeting is not enough, but the decisions taken in the meeting should also be implemented in practice.
He directed the concerned authorities to also submit a progress report on the decisions of the previous meeting and said that the officers and employees guilty of negligence would be held accountable in the next meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner clarified that a zero tolerance policy would be followed in the matter of education and negligence, absenteeism from duties would not be allowed at any level.
He said that the future of the children of Musakhel district is the joint responsibility of all of us and action would be taken against those who neglect this responsibility as per the law and rules.
He urged all the concerned authorities to discharge their responsibilities efficiently, ensure the attendance of teachers and staff in schools at all costs and continue to take effective steps to improve the quality of
education.
