Peshawar: Senior politician and ANP leader Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour called on JUI-F chief Maulana Fazalur Rehman on Tuesday and enquired after his health.
On this occasion, Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour expressed good wishes for Maulana Fazalur Rehman. They also discussed law and order situation in the province.
Those present on the occasion were included Maulana Atta-ul-Haq Darwaish, Maulana Abdul Haseeb Haqqani and others.
Dera ismail khan: Two young brothers were killed in a firing incident here in Garha Budh area on Tuesday.
According to police the two brothers- village Nazim Qari Muhammad Idrees and Qari Muhammad Ishaq- were coming from Tank when unknown assailants opened indiscriminate fire on them near Pir Kach area, situated within the limits of Sadar police station.
As a result, both the brothers died on the spot.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident, but no arrests have been made so far.
The deceased brothers were siblings of Mufti Kifayatullah, a well-known leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) party.
Police are working to uncover the motive behind the attack and bring those responsible to justice.
Peshawar: The capacity building and leadership training for third batch of nurses starts at Khyber Medical University (KMU) here on Tuesday.
The inauguration ceremony of the training program was held in KMU and among others was attended by Provincial Secretary Health, Syed Adeel Shah. The training would be conducted by experts and trainers from United Kingdom.
Briefing the participants, Project Director, Dr. Ejaz Hussain told the training was aimed to improve capacity building of nurses and to train them according to international standards. He said these training courses were also meant to equip nurses with skills needed to enhance professional capabilities.
Speaking on the occasion, secretary health said that provincial government is committed to increase standard of nursing profession adding it would enhance performance and capacity building of nurses.
He said that the program would help provide nurses practical training enabling them to tackle situation effectively and professionally.
Sargodha: Provincial Minister for Usher and Zakat Rana Munawar Ghous Khan has said the incumbent government under the supervision of the chief minister is taking measures
for welfare of people.
Talking to reporter here on Tuesday, he said the government was utilizing all possible resources for betterment of the masses, adding that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) did nothing for the masses
and did not fulfill any promise regarding welfare of people. He said when the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) came to power it had brought about a revolution in all sectors, including the agriculture,after launching comprehensive policies.
Sukkur: Vice Chancellor (VC), Shah Abdul Latif University (SALU) Khairpur, Professor Dr. Yousuf Khushk on Tuesday stressed the importance of unity and collective effort for the future of the university.
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Khushk expressed his long-standing relationship with the faculty and staff, referring to them as his "family" and emphasizing that only by working together can they overcome challenges and achieve success.
He expressed such views while speaking on occasion of the 50 house building loans and 50 cycles draw event held here at Benazir Chair SALU Khairpur.
Reflecting on his tenure, the Vice Chancellor shared that when he first joined the university, he was informed about its financial challenges. He highlighted that while the situation had been difficult, the administration had made significant strides in addressing these issues and would continue to move forward.
'We must work together and support one another to cope with the current situation. We are working 16 hours out of 24 hours to make things better,' VC said.
He also highlighted recent achievements, including the early release of annual examination results-an unprecedented move-and the distribution of commutation funds directly to employees' accounts. He encouraged the staff to share in the collective success and continue supporting the university's initiatives.
Prof Dr Khushk also revealed plans to open new campuses in different districts, provided funding becomes available, and highlighted the ongoing signing of MOUs with other institutions to establish new departments and online courses.
'Together, we can create a better university. If we are united, we can accomplish anything,' he concluded.
At end, a lucky draw event was held offering 50 house building loans and 50 cycles to lucky winners.
Muzaffargarh: Additional District and Sessions Judges on Tuesday awarded fourteen-year jail with Rs 1 million fine to a sex offender while in another case an accused was awarded the death sentence on two counts.
A district police spokesman, quoting prosecutors, said in a statement that ADSJ Tahir Khalil, deciding a case of city police station Muzaffargarh, awarded fourteen years imprisonment and Rs 1 million fine on a sex offender, Kaleemullah. The accused had assaulted a girl below the age of thirteen years.
Deciding a murder case, Additional District and Sessions Judge Kot Addu, Amanullah Khan, sentenced an accused Amir to death on two counts and imposed Rs 300,000 fine on him on each count.
The police spokesman said that DPO Syed Husnain Haidar commended the police investigators for their proficiency that resulted in the conviction of accused in the two cases.
