Mirpur (ajk): Under the spirit to provide direct access to the litigants to secure immediate status of their under trial cases in High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and the subordinate judiciary, entire related record of the judiciary has been computerised in entire AJK State.

This was disclosed by the Chief Justice of the High Court of Azad Jammu Kashmir Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja while talking to journalists during visit to Kashmir Press Club here on Monday.

Newly inducted Capital Police Officer SSP Muzaffarabad Raja Irfan Saleem was also present on this occasion.

Kashmir Press Club President Syed Abid Hussain Shah and other office bearers and senior journalists welcomed the Chief Justice Mr. Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja with the hope for delivery of speedy and expensive justice to the needy by the High Court of AJK and the subordinate judiciary in AJK.

The CJ said that any of the litigant would be able to have immediate status and know-how about the status including next date of hearing etc. of his or her under-trial case or cases from his home directly through Internet service from the concerned court of law, instead of personally visiting the clerical staffer of the court.

Chief Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja categorically said while responding to a question that Computerisation of the judiciary record about the under trial or disposed off judicial cases in the AJK HC and subordinate judiciary will not only provide latest mean of communication furnishing litigant people to have direct access about the status of their under trial cases instantly but also close the door of alleged corruption in form of illegal gratification by the litigant to the concerned court clerk for securing information about the status of their cases manually, he added.

The AJK HC and subordinate judiciary has started working to this direction and under the project of Computerisation of the recotmrd of judiciary all the judicial system of Azad Kashmir has been inter- connected.

He underlined that "Registration of Deeds through Computerised project" has become functional in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad. "During next two to three months, the online registry system will also be activated in whole of AJK.

He advised the journalist fraternity to play a responsible and important role in smoothing public opinion. "Responsible journalism is necessary for emergence of a healthy society, he emphasized.

He said that he was trying his best to ensure the e-courts system fully functional in the AJK HC and subordinate judiciary to file cases including to know about the verdicts and cases related to other courts.

The CJ lauded AJK Information Technology Board and it's officials for timely completion of this state of the art judicial record computerisation project, which, he hoped, will bring transparency in the registration process and eliminate the chances of error. "Similarly, the issues of pending cases will also be resolved in time, he added.

In response to a question, the CJ said that there was no any pending case for last five years in the High Court of AJK.

Battagram: In line with the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's 'Public Agenda,' Deputy Commissioner Battagram Asif Ali Khan conducted an open court at his office to engage directly with citizens and address their grievances.

The session aimed to facilitate immediate resolutions by providing a platform where individuals could present their concerns directly to the district administration.

During the meeting, the DC listened to each issue in detail and promptly issued directives to relevant departments and officials for swift action.

Faisalabad: Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) has decided to place manhole covers made of fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) and RPC which will stop theft of covers in the city.

Initially, plastic manhole covers will be placed in streets and mohalla's manholes. However, the manholes on main roads will be covered with old material prepared with iron and concrete mixed due to heavy traffic.

Managing Director Amir Aziz said here Tuesday that new manhole covers have been built of fiber reinforcement plastic (FRB), RPC. These plastic covers have zero re-sale value in the market as compared to iron mixed covers.

He said that there were lots of reports of manhole covers theft in the city therefore the agency has decided to replace them.

He said that plastic covers are also cheap in cost as compared to others.

He said that WASA helpline 1334 is active round the clock and citizens can inform about missing manhole covers.

Hyderabad: The Inter-District Matiari Cricket Tournament, organized by the department of sports and youth affairs will commence tomorrow, January 8, 2025, at Ali Waris Cricket Ground, Bhit Shah.

Assistant Commissioner Hala Dr. Mazhar Burero will inaugurate the tournament along with District Sports Officer Matiari Jaleel Ahmed Halepoto.

The opening match between Matiari Eleven and Bhit Shah Eleven will be played at 12:00 PM. On January 9, Hala Eleven will face Saeedabad Eleven. The winners of these matches will compete in the final on January 10.

According to a handout, the Deputy Commissioner Matiari Muhammad Yousif Shaikh will be the chief guest for the final match and will distribute prizes among the winning team and standout performers. The tournament will be played under the ICC rules.

Sargodha: The disbursement of payments under the recent tranche of the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) was underway transparently,said Deputy Director Raazia Yasmin here on Tuesday.

While talking to reporter,she said that a total of 173,272 beneficiaries in the district would get payments of Rs 10,500 each,adding that 11 camp sites, including four in Sargodha, were set up for the smooth process.

Raazia Yasmin highlighted that special counters were set up for pregnant and breastfeeding women so that they could not face long queues.

She emphasized that all payments disbursement persons were strictly directed to disburse funds without any deductions."Stern action will be taken against those involved in illegal deductions",she asserted.

She said that she had been personally monitoring the disbursement payments process by staying in the field.

Women should report agents demanding illegal deductions so that legal action can be taken against them,she concluded.
