Faisalabad: A young man received serious burn injuries when a fire erupted due to gas leakage in his house in the area of Madina Town police station.

Rescue 1122 spokesman said here on Tuesday that the fire erupted in the house situated in Hassan Village Chak 208/R-B road due to gas leakage.

The fire engulfed the entire surroundings and caused burn injuries house owner Ejaz (45) in addition to burning precious house luggage.

Receiving information, fire fighters of Rescue 1122 rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after hectic efforts.

Rescue 1122 also shifted the injured to hospital after providing him first aid. However, his condition was stated to be out of danger, he added.

Peshawar: Three elders who refused to sign the Kurram Peace Agreement have been arrested, said the district administration on Tuesday.

According to the administration, Syed Rehman, Saifullah, and Karim Khan have not yet signed the peace agreement, which led to their arrest.

The district administration clarified that the decisions of the Apex Committee and the provincial government will strictly be enforced to ensure law and order in the district.

On the other hand, cases have also been registered against those who staged a sit-in and blocked roads outside the Parachinar Press Club.

Officials from the district administration stated that all routes will be reopened, and the flow of traffic will be restored at all cost.

Peshawar: Special Assistant to KP CM on Industries and Commerce, Abdul Karim Tordher has directed for the acceleration of the digitization process of all sectors related to industries and commerce to make public services and facilities more accessible.

He emphasized that facilitating ease of doing business is the vision of the provincial government and their effort is to integrate all services of relevant departments regarding business operations in the province on this online portal.

He issued these directives while presiding over a meeting on Tuesday at the Civil Secretariat in Peshawar, reviewing the digitization of various public services and institutional business of the Industries, Commerce and Technical Education Department's attached institutions related to industry and commerce.

The meeting was attended by Director of Industries Hassan Abid, Deputy Managing Director of Small Industries Development Board (SIDB) Noman Fayaz, Acting Chief General Operations of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KP-EZDMC) Muhammad Rafiq, Director of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Technology Board Shakirullah, Deputy Manager of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment and Trade Miss. Rais Anjum, Deputy Secretary of Industries Azazullah and other relevant officials.

The meeting reviewed steps taken to provide various services digitally for the convenience of the public, focusing on the digitization of services by SIDB, KP EZDMC, KP Board of Investment and Trade, and Directorate General of Industries.The forum was also briefed on the ongoing process of digitizing institutional matters within these sectors.

During the meeting, it was informed that, in line with the vision of the Special Assistant, 13 departments have already been integrated into the online platform for ease of doing business. The process of connecting more departments to the platform is progressing rapidly.

It was further shared that departments whose services are already available online on ease of doing business Portal, are being made even more user-friendly.

The meeting was also informed that the IT Board has forwarded a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the digitization of all matters under the Directorate General of Industries. Officials from the Directorate General of Industries assured the meeting that they would accelerate their efforts to fulfill their responsibilities in this regard.

The meeting also highlighted that a workshop would be organized to enhance the effectiveness of the ease of doing business Portal and its online services.

The workshop will involve focal persons from all departments and representatives from various chambers to further raise awareness about the benefits of this facility.

It was also announced that the online process for registration of partnership forms at the Directorate General of Industries will be linked to NADRA's e-Saholat System, so that people from remote areas do not have to travel for registration.

In conclusion, the Special Assistant emphasized that improvements and further facilitation should be introduced for the services already digitized, to make industry-related responsibilities and services under various laws more accessible to the public.

He also stressed that work should begin promptly on the remaining tasks for digitization.

Mirpur (ajk): Under the spirit to provide direct access to the litigants to secure immediate status of their under trial cases in High Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and the subordinate judiciary, entire related record of the judiciary has been computerised in entire AJK State.

This was disclosed by the Chief Justice of the High Court of Azad Jammu Kashmir Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja while talking to journalists during visit to Kashmir Press Club here on Monday.

Newly inducted Capital Police Officer SSP Muzaffarabad Raja Irfan Saleem was also present on this occasion.

Kashmir Press Club President Syed Abid Hussain Shah and other office bearers and senior journalists welcomed the Chief Justice Mr. Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja with the hope for delivery of speedy and expensive justice to the needy by the High Court of AJK and the subordinate judiciary in AJK.

The CJ said that any of the litigant would be able to have immediate status and know-how about the status including next date of hearing etc. of his or her under-trial case or cases from his home directly through Internet service from the concerned court of law, instead of personally visiting the clerical staffer of the court.

Chief Justice Sadaqat Hussain Raja categorically said while responding to a question that Computerisation of the judiciary record about the under trial or disposed off judicial cases in the AJK HC and subordinate judiciary will not only provide latest mean of communication furnishing litigant people to have direct access about the status of their under trial cases instantly but also close the door of alleged corruption in form of illegal gratification by the litigant to the concerned court clerk for securing information about the status of their cases manually, he added.

The AJK HC and subordinate judiciary has started working to this direction and under the project of Computerisation of the recotmrd of judiciary all the judicial system of Azad Kashmir has been inter- connected.

He underlined that "Registration of Deeds through Computerised project" has become functional in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad. "During next two to three months, the online registry system will also be activated in whole of AJK.

He advised the journalist fraternity to play a responsible and important role in smoothing public opinion. "Responsible journalism is necessary for emergence of a healthy society, he emphasized.

He said that he was trying his best to ensure the e-courts system fully functional in the AJK HC and subordinate judiciary to file cases including to know about the verdicts and cases related to other courts.

The CJ lauded AJK Information Technology Board and it's officials for timely completion of this state of the art judicial record computerisation project, which, he hoped, will bring transparency in the registration process and eliminate the chances of error. "Similarly, the issues of pending cases will also be resolved in time, he added.

In response to a question, the CJ said that there was no any pending case for last five years in the High Court of AJK.

Battagram: In line with the directives of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's 'Public Agenda,' Deputy Commissioner Battagram Asif Ali Khan conducted an open court at his office to engage directly with citizens and address their grievances.
