Commissioner takes notice of non-availability of power in Jam Ghulam Qadir Teaching Hospital Hub


Quetta: Commissioner Lasbela Division Saira Atta on Wednesday took notice of non-availability of electricity during operations in Jam Ghulam Qadir Hospital Hub’s operation theater.



She also directed Deputy Commissioner to immediately write a letter to higher authorities against the General Manager (GM) of K-Electric Management for ensuring the power in the hospital.



Visiting the 50-bed Jam Ghulam Qadir Hospital Hub, commissioner said that nothing is more valuable than human life adding that failure of K-Electric officials to remove minor faults daily is a serious problem in Hub.



She said that despite significant revenue recovery from industrial zones, K-Electric management’s behavior is unacceptable, more than 400 operations are performed on an emergency basis monthly at Jam Ghulam Qadir Teaching Hospital Hub.



‘Despite hospital visits, K-Electric technical team’s lack of interest in removing faults is irresponsible’, she noted and added that dialysis unit, incubators and normal operations are affected due to non-supply of electricity.



MS Ham Ghulam Qadir Hospital briefed the Commissioner Lasbela Division about the function of the hospital and its other issues.



The Commissioner also assured that she would take all possible measures to address problems of the hospital for provision of health quality facilities to patients in the hospital.



She said that no compromise would be made on health quality and directed concerned doctors and paramedical staff to improve further quality of treatment facilities for patients.
