DC chairs coordination meeting, launches monsoon plantation drive in Sialkot


Sialkot: Deputy Commissioner Awais Mushtaq on Thursday chaired a meeting of the District Coordination Committee (Home Department) to review law and order, administrative affairs and ongoing measures against crime across the district.



Participants were briefed on the ongoing crackdown against illegal mini petrol pumps and LPG stations, anti-encroachment operations, action against professional beggars and inter-departmental coordination. The deputy commissioner directed all departments to work in close coordination and continue indiscriminate action against illegal activities, encroachments, unauthorized petrol pumps, LPG stations and professional beggars to ensure the writ of the law. The DPO also briefed the meeting on the police strategy for crime prevention and measures taken to maintain law and order. Earlier, the deputy commissioner inaugurated the district’s monsoon plantation campaign by planting a sapling on Khawaja Safdar Road under the Punjab government’s Clean and Green Punjab and Plant for Pakistan initiatives.
