Dera ismail khan: Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah Wazir has underlined the need for taking concrete steps to complete ongoing drainage projects across the city in timely manner.
He expressed these views while visiting these projects where he directed the relevant departments to accelerate work to ensure the early disposal of rainwater and provide relief to residents affected by recent rainfall.
Accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance) Adnan Khan, Assistant Commissioner Dr. Hamid, the WASA Manager and officials from the concerned departments also accompanied him.
According to the administration, he examined the under-construction drainage outlets in Tariqabad and along the riverside.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the slow pace of work, Hikmatullah Wazir instructed the departments concerned to immediately increase machinery and manpower to complete the projects on an emergency basis.
The Deputy Commissioner later inspected the drainage outlet in Madani Town, where he ordered the lining of the drain and directed officials to further speed up construction activities.
At Madina Colony, he reviewed the stalled drainage channel and instructed authorities to complete its connection to the river without delay to remove obstacles to the smooth flow of rainwater.

Assistant Commissioner to maintain close coordination with all relevant departments and ensure continuous monitoring so that the ongoing projects are completed within the stipulated timeframe.
Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah Wazir said the district administration was utilizing all available resources to address public problems caused by the rains and would continue field supervision until all drainage projects were completed.
