Lahore: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lahore Muhammad Ali Ejaz on Tuesday inspected cleanliness arrangements and ongoing drain-cleaning operations in Cantt Tehsil, directing officials to ensure timely and complete desilting of drains and maintain high standards of cleanliness across the area.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Enforcement, Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Lahore and Assistant Commissioner Cantt, along with representatives of relevant departments, accompanied the deputy commissioner during his field visit.
During the visit, DC Ali Ejaz inspected the ongoing cleaning and desilting work on a drain along Sehjpal Road. Assistant Commissioner Cantt briefed him on administrative arrangements and ongoing activities in the tehsil.
The deputy commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure complete and timely cleaning of all drains and closely monitor desilting operations. He also ordered strict compliance with all prescribed safety measures during cleaning activities. He directed field staff to use safety kits and strictly follow standard operating procedures to protect workers as well as the public. ‘Protection of citizens’ lives and property is the foremost priority of the district administration,’ Captain Ali Ejaz said, adding that no negligence would be tolerated in the provision of municipal services.
He directed officers to remain present in the field to ensure high standards of cleanliness and effective service delivery. He said the district administration would utilize all available resources to keep the city clean and ensure public convenience.
The DC said he was personally monitoring cleanliness arrangements in different parts of Lahore to ensure that sanitation operations were carried out efficiently and that civic facilities were maintained according to the required standards.
