Lahore: Deputy Commissioner Lahore Captain (retd) Muhammad Ali Ejaz conducted a detailed visit to Mayo Hospital on Friday to inspect safety arrangements and the functionality of fire hydrants. He was accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Khan and Assistant Commissioner Rana Amir Liaquat.
During the visit, the hospital administration briefed the DC on emergency protocols, safety gadgets, and safe evacuation procedures for patients and citizens. The functionality of fire hydrants across various departments was thoroughly checked, staff training regarding the use of safety equipment was evaluated, and a practical demonstration of emergency response was presented.
?Reviewing the security measures, the Deputy Commissioner directed that teams should identify the functionality and additional requirements of fire hydrants across all hospitals. He instructed Rescue 1122 to survey all hospitals in Lahore and submit a report on fire hydrants, LESCO teams to check power supplies in the outer sections of hospitals, and WASA to ensure the immediate installation of all hydrant-related equipment. Stressing that all departments must work together to complete safety installations immediately, the DC ordered district teams to inspect safety equipment in coordination with hospital administration from every aspect.
?Captain (R) Muhammad Ali Ejaz stated that the functionality of fire extinguishers, bowsers, and fire hydrants must be maintained under all circumstances, warning that no negligence or laxity in safety arrangements will be tolerated. He added that safety audits of hospitals are currently underway, all departments should fulfill their professional responsibilities with a spirit of public service, all available resources will be utilized to tackle any untoward incident, and district administration’s full support is extended to all hospitals in Lahore to make the emergency response plans more modern and effective to ensure a safe medical environment for citizens.
