Quetta: Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti chaired a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office, Quetta, to review ongoing police reforms, digitalization of various departments, and the effective use of modern technology.
During the session, Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir Khan and DIG Headquarters Hassan Asad Alvi gave a detailed briefing to the Chief Minister on the activation of 16 digital applications and other initiatives introduced by Balochistan Police. The briefing covered efforts to integrate different police departments into a digital system, modernize policing practices, and ensure timely and efficient services for citizens.
The meeting also examined the functionality and practical utility of the new apps, with Bugti personally reviewing demonstrations and seeking information about the scope of services being delivered through these platforms.
Provincial Home Minister Mir Zia Langau, Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan, Additional Chief Secretary Home Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, and CM’s Aide on Media and Political Affairs Shahid Rind, along with other officials, attended the meeting.
Discussions focused on strengthening the role of modern technology in policing, expanding digital facilities, and making police services more modern, effective, and citizen-friendly.
