Lahore: Deputy Commissioner(DC),Lahore Muhammad Ali Ejaz on Saturday visited the Tehsil Headquarters Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Hospital,Bedian Road to review emergency preparedness and safety arrangements.
The DC directed the hospital administration to ensure that all emergency response measures remained fully operational round the clock.
Assistant Commissioner(AC) Saddar,Dr.Abid Mumtaz Khan Sial and other relevant officers accompanied the DC during his visit.
The hospital administration briefed DC on emergency protocols,safety measures and arrangements put in place to deal with any untoward situation.
A practical demonstration of the emergency response arrangements was also presented to him.
The DC was briefed on the procedure for safely evacuating patients,attendants and citizens from the hospital during an emergency,along with the evacuation plan devised to ensure their protection.
DC Muhammad Ali Ejaz directed the hospital administration to keep staff and equipment fully prepared to respond to emergencies at all times.
He ordered that all emergency exit routes should remain clear and fully functional.
He further directed that prominent signboards should be installed along evacuation routes to facilitate the safe movement and guidance of patients, attendants and visitors.
The DC said protection of human lives must be ensured in case of any untoward incident,adding that the safety of citizens and their property was the foremost priority of the district administration.
He said no negligence would be tolerated in safety arrangements and safety audits,adding that emergency response plans of hospitals were being brought up to the best possible standards.
The DC said the district administration was ensuring strict monitoring of safety arrangements at hospitals and directed the concerned officials to remain vigilant and take all necessary measures to ensure effective emergency preparedness.
