Hyderabad: Director General health services Sindh Dr Perwez Ahmed Shaikh. accompanied by Additional Secretary Health Dr Hassan Bhugio. paid a detailed visit to Liaquat Medical College Hospital Hyderabad and inspected various wards and departments.
According to the hospital’s media coordinator Asghar Ali Pathan. during the visit. the DG health services expressed satisfaction over the ongoing construction. renovation and beautification works in different wards of the hospital.
He said the health department Sindh was giving top priority to the development and upgradation of hospitals along with providing quality treatment and medicines to deserving patients.
He said efforts were being made to improve facilities at public sector hospitals so that patients from all segments of society. regardless of their financial status. would prefer government hospitals over private healthcare facilities.
Medical Superintendent Dr Syed Irshad Hussain Kazmi and other officers were also present on the occasion. The medical superintendent briefed the DG health services in detail about ongoing development projects. improvements in medical facilities and future healthcare infrastructure plans.
Later. the DG health services and additional secretary health inspected the 24-hour pharmacy established in the ICU building. They appreciated the pharmacy’s round-the-clock functioning. administrative management and facilities being provided to patients and commended Dr Kazmi for his efforts and performance.
They also visited the under-construction Modular Operation Theatre (OT) and thoroughly reviewed the ongoing construction work.
Expressing satisfaction over the project. Dr Perwez Ahmed Shaikh said completion of the Modular OT would help provide patients with more modern. quality and safe medical and surgical facilities. besides significantly improving the hospital’s overall operational capacity.
