Gold price falls Rs3, 700 per tola to Rs458, 236


Islamabad: The price of gold in the country declined on Wednesday, with the price of 24-karat gold falling by Rs3, 700 to Rs458, 236 per tola, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.



The price of 24-karat gold for 10 grams decreased by Rs3, 172 to Rs392, 863, while the price of 22-karat gold for 10 grams fell by Rs2, 908 to Rs360, 137. In the international market, gold was quoted at $4, 358 per ounce, down by $37 from the previous session.



Meanwhile, the price of silver also witnessed a decline, with 24-karat silver falling by Rs186 per tola to Rs6, 800.



The price of 24-karat silver for 10 grams decreased by Rs160 to Rs5, 829, while international silver was quoted at $63. 21 per ounce, down by $1. 86. The gold rates were based on interbank exchange rates, with purity set at 999 for 24-karat gold, the association said.
