Peshawar: Chief Khateeb of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Qureshi has said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a model province for interfaith harmony where minorities enjoy complete protection.
He expressed these views here on Tuesday while addressing a ceremony held in Provincial Assembly on the occasion of Minorities Day.
Minorities living in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are a part of our existence, it is our responsibility to protect their property and lives, Maulana Tayyab Qureshi added.
Ministry of Auqaf has allocated a huge amount for the welfare of minorities, for which Minister for Auqaf Adnan Qadri Saab and the entire department deserve congratulations, he added.
Chief Khateeb KP said the role of minorities in development and stability of Pakistan has been outstanding, which can never be forgotten.
The Chief Khateeb of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa announced that on behalf of the scholars and madrassas, he give a message of peace to the minority community living across Pakistan and assure you that we will not allow any harm to religious freedom.
On this occasion, Speaker Provincial Assembly Babar Saleem Swati, Provincial Minister for Auqaf Allama Adnan Qadri, former Advisor to the Minister, Hindu leader Ravi Kumar, members of the National and Provincial Assembly, bishops, religious leaders, Sikh Peshwas and others were also present.
