Mayor Karachi hands over new heavy vehicles to various KMC wings


Karachi: Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, handed over newly procured heavy vehicles to various departments of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) with the aim of enhancing their operational capacity and further improving the delivery of municipal services.



Municipal Commissioner KMC Abrar Jaffer, Financial Advisor Gulzar Ali Abro, KMC officers, and other officials were also present on this occasion.



Two articulated boom lift vehicles were handed over to the Electrical and Mechanical Department, while one truck was provided to the Anti-Encroachment Department.



Speaking at the occasion, Mayor Karachi said that the provision of modern machinery and heavy vehicles is essential for strengthening urban management and improving the quality of municipal services.



He stated that the induction of these vehicles into the KMC fleet would enhance the operational efficiency of various departments and enable them to provide faster, more effective, and higher-quality services to the citizens.



He further said that KMC is continuously utilizing its own resources and development budget in an efficient manner to improve civic facilities. As a result of prudent financial management, the Corporation’s revenue has increased, allowing available resources to be directed toward public welfare and the resolution of urban issues.



The Mayor added that the Corporation is promoting institutional self-reliance through the effective utilization of its resources, leading to significant improvements in the performance of its various departments.



Murtaza said that the newly acquired heavy vehicles would not only support the technical operations of the Electrical and Mechanical Department but would also strengthen the Anti-Encroachment Department by making its enforcement operations more efficient, organized, and effective.



He emphasized that the addition of modern machinery would significantly enhance the overall performance of KMC departments and further reinforce the Corporation’s commitment to providing improved municipal services to the people of Karachi.
