North Waziristan delegation meets Commissioner Bannu, demands discussed

Peshawar A delegation of elders and political and social figures from North Waziristan met Commissioner Bannu Division Captain (Retd) Khalid Mahmood at the Commissioner’s Office Bannu, in the presence of Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Bannu, Abdul Ghafoor Afridi on Thursday.



Matters relating to the problems faced by the affectees of North Waziristan and their demands were discussed in detail.



The delegation was led by Chief of North Waziristan Malik Nasrullah Khan and included Malik Shah Nawaz Khan, Malik Rehmatullah Wazir and a large number of other prominent figures and political and social leaders.



Commissioner Bannu Division Captain (Retd) Khalid Mahmood assured the delegation of taking necessary steps to resolve their genuine demands. He said that keeping in view the backwardness of North Waziristan, the problems of the affectees and the overall law and order situation, he had already highlighted public issues and would continue to raise them at the provincial level in future as well.



Earlier, DIG Bannu Region Abdul Ghafoor Afridi, while talking to the delegation, said that no action or step outside the legal ambit can be allowed. He made it clear that in any illegal action, the matter of those involved will be seen according to the law, and the responsible persons will have to face legal action. This is in the interest of all the people of the area.
