Lahore: Rice growers can avail a subsidy of Rs 5,000 per acre, up to a maximum of Rs 25,000, for the use of super seeders under the Punjab Clean Air Programme.
According to the Punjab Agriculture Department, the subsidy is available to rice growers in Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Chiniot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Multan, Lodhran, Khanewal, Vehari and Bahawalnagar.
Interested farmers can register online through www.agripunjab.gov.pk or kissanmadadgar.agrimec.gop.pk/home.
The department said the use of super seeders helps incorporate rice residue into the soil, enabling wheat to be sown in rows.
It also facilitates the placement of fertilizer close to the seed and planking, thereby helping reduce production costs.
