Lahore: Punjab Police have arrested 26, 803 accused and registered 26, 151 cases during operations against drug peddlers across the province this year so far, while large quantities of drugs and alcohol were also recovered.
According to police records, 1, 281. 87-kg heroin, 318. 58-kg opium and 14, 951. 885-kg hashish were recovered from drug peddlers during the operations.
Police also seized 412, 463 litres of liquor and 50, 795 litres of cannabis. According to the data, 3, 467 drug-peddlers were arrested in Lahore and 3, 336 cases were registered. As many as 4, 346 suspects were arrested from Faisalabad, 2, 927 from Gujranwala, 1, 949 from Gujarat, 1, 732 from Rawalpindi, 1, 457 from Sheikhupura and 1, 090 were arrested from Sargodha.
