Gujrat: On the directions of Deputy Director Punjab Food Authority (PFA) Sadia Rafat, the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued its enforcement drive across Gujrat district and inspected 38 food businesses to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
According to official sources, improvement notices were issued to 15 food outlets for violating food safety regulations, while eight food businesses were fined a total of Rs113, 000 for various violations.
During the inspections, one food sample was collected for laboratory analysis, while two kilograms of expired food items were discarded to prevent their sale to consumers.
The Punjab Food Authority reiterated its commitment to ensuring the availability of safe and quality food for the public, adding that inspection and enforcement operations would continue across the district without interruption.
