Preparation measures of Independence Day, August 14 reviewed in Gwadar


Quetta: Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Gwadar General Dr. Abdul Shakoor on Friday chaired a meeting regarding the celebrations of Independence Day, August 14, 2026, in which special responsibilities were assigned to various government departments to celebrate the national day celebrations in a dignified manner.



The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Gwadar Romel Nayem Jan, district officers and heads of relevant departments.



The meeting reviewed in detail the administrative matters including the organization of Independence Day celebrations, hoisting of the national flag, decoration and illumination of government buildings and important highways, cleanliness, security and traffic management.



The meeting decided that Gwadar Port Authority, Gwadar Development Authority, Gwadar Industrial Estate Development Authority, Department of Communications and Works, Public Health Department, Irrigation Department, Local Government and Chief Municipal Officer would install 200 streamers and 4 large Pinaflex billboards under city branding in Gwadar city.



In the meeting said that all government offices would be closed from August 10.



The meeting also directed to decorate the national flag, electric lights and appropriate decorations by 2026.



The meeting also entrusted the Education Department, University of Gwadar, Government Boys Degree College and Government Girls Degree College Gwadar with the responsibility of organizing speeches, national songs, tableaus, sketches based on national unity and other cultural programs for the main event.



The meeting also decided that an Independence Day flag march rally would be held on August 14 under the leadership of the Assistant Commissioner Gwadar, in which officers, officials of all government departments and various institutions could participate.



The main flag hoisting ceremony will be held at the Deputy Commissioner Office Gwadar at 9:00 am on the same day, where the national flag would be hoisted, the national anthem to be played and special prayers could be offered for the development, prosperity, peace and stability of the beloved homeland.
