Rs 480m grants,scholarships being distributed among workers: minister


Sialkot: Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources Muhammad Manshaullah Butt, has said that on the special instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Rs 480 million is being distributed among industrial workers in Punjab in the form of death, marriage grants and educational scholarships. He said this while distributing cheques among industrial workers in a local marquee.



In the ceremony, death and marriage grant relief cheques were distributed among 285 more industrial workers in Sialkot.



Deputy Commissioner Awais Mushtaq, President Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) Syed Ahtesham Mazhar Gilani, Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Chaudhry Faisal Ikram and Khawaja Sultan, along with industrialists and workers were also present.



Speaking on the occasion, Manshaullah Butt said that the Labour and Human Resource Department has made the system of providing grants to industrial workers online, which eliminates the need for workers to visit government offices.



He said that grant cheques are being distributed among industrial workers in Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan.



Manshaullah Butt said that according to the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the labour department has changed the method of providing grants to workers.



The minister said that the grants whose cheques are being distributed today were pending for many



years. He said that now these cheques are being provided to the workers in the presence of the industrialists to ensure timely resolution of their problems.



Muhammad Manshaullah Butt said that Pakistani industrialists are raising the country’s flag around the world, while the skills and expertise of Pakistani workers are recognized and appreciated globally.



He said the hard work and capabilities of the country’s workforce play a vital role in promoting Pakistan’s industries and strengthening its position in international markets.
