Lahore: The Suthra Punjab Agency Lahore (SPAL) has stepped up cleanliness operations across the city ahead of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), with more than 2,318 sanitation workers deployed in all towns to ensure cleanliness along the routes of processions, at religious gatherings and around major Mosques.
On the directions of LWMC CEO Sheryar Arif Khan, sanitation teams have been working in three shifts under a special cleanliness plan for Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH). The CEO said the cleaning and washing of more than 160 major Mosques across Lahore had been completed ahead of the occasion, while dedicated sanitation staff had been deployed for all processions and religious gatherings scheduled in the city. Furthermore, 182 workers have been assigned to the night shift to ensure mechanical
sweeping and washing of major roads.
Lime would also be sprinkled along the routes of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) processions as part of the special arrangements. Sanitation workers have been deployed for manual sweeping and waste clearance along the routes of Milad gatherings and processions being held during Rabi-ul-Awwal.
Special cleanliness arrangements have been completed at Milad Chowk, Circular Road, Sunheri Mosque, Bhaati Gate, Delhi Gate, the Walled City and Data Darbar. SPAL teams have also been deployed for waste clearance and washing activities on Fort Road, Gulshan Ravi and Multan Road. Similarly, special cleanliness arrangements have been completed on Mall Road, Jail Road, District Courts, Islampura, Sanda and Outfall Road.
CEO Sheryar Arif Khan said that special cleanliness operation would continue until the conclusion of all Milad gatherings, rallies and processions being held in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and providing citizens with a clean environment was top priority. He urged citizens to cooperate with the SPAL staff and help maintain cleanliness across the city.
