Lahore: The Unique Group of Institutions (UGIs) organised its annual art competition to provide students with an opportunity to showcase their creative abilities and artistic talent, here on Saturday.
Students from more than 80 campuses of the Unique Group participated in the competition and produced artworks on various themes and poetry, displaying their imagination, creativity and artistic skills.
Chairman Unique Group Professor Abdul Manan Khurram presided over the event. Chairperson Sadia Khurram, Rector Professor Amjad Ali Khan, Vice Chairman Afif Ashraf Siddiqui, Director (Academics) Professor Wasim Anwar Chaudhry, Director (Admin) Muhammad Abdullah and other guests visited the competition and viewed the artworks created by the participating students. They appreciated the young artists for their creativity and efforts.
Prof. Abdul Manan Khurram said art competitions were an effective means of nurturing creativity and promoting the intellectual development of children. He said such healthy and constructive activities should be made an integral part of the annual calendar of educational institutions.
He stressed that arts played an important role in shaping children’s personalities by encouraging them to express their ideas, emotions and imagination in creative ways. He said he was pleased to see the impressive artwork produced by the young participants and appreciated their talent and enthusiasm.
A large number of students, teachers and other guests attended the event.
