Lahore: The Wildlife Department on Sunday intensified operations against illegal hunting and illegal trade of wildlife. According to Deputy Chief Wildlife Ranger Sakhi Muhammad Joyia, operations were carried out at various places in Lahore on the instructions of AdditionalChief Wildlife Ranger Central Zone Mudassar Hassan. During the operation led by Sakhi Muhammad Joyia, an accused involved in online trade of flip-shell turtle was arrested. A rare Indian flip-shell turtle was recovered from the possession of the accused, against whom a case had been registered at Baghbanpura Police Station.
The second action was taken in Lahore Cantt Tehsil, where a case was registered against a wild bird catcher. An FIR was got registered against the accused at Barki Hadiyara police station by the Wildlife Department.
